The GPS map, found in some of the Windows versions of ACDSee products, was added to Studio for Mac in this version. After setting up the database of 60,000+ images on my iMac 2017, a Quick Search using an IPTC keyword found images in about 7 seconds selecting a keyword in the Organize pane produced the images in about 1 second. PS for Mac 5 collects and manages two sets of information: the keyword and other EXIF/IPTC data shared with other photo apps proprietary ratings, labels, keywords, image well and calendar. In my trials, there was a swift initial scan and a quick rendering of thumbnails when returning to previously scanned folders.
#ACDSEE PHOTO STUDIO FOR MAC 5 WIKI UPDATE#
This update has added speed and improved the ability to ingest images without hanging the operation. Therein lies the database - the digital asset manager - for organizing and finding your images. The Manage tab is the primary reason for considering use of ACDSee Photo Studio for Mac 5. Why should the user have to type in contact information every time new images are added? However, missing from the options here is a way to preserve a custom profile of photographer information that can be automatically added to the EXIF/IPTC data. Many of these EXIF/IPTC listings are superfluous for the average photographer, but the user can create a custom profile to exclude the unnecessary items. Found in the Properties pane are the EXIF and IPTC data categories.

Organize contains a listing of Ratings, Labels, Special Items and a Calendar. The Manage tab has three major sections: the left side of the screen with the computer folder structure, the middle of the screen with resizable thumbnails and the right side with an Organize pane and a Properties pane. The new ACDSee Photo Studio for Mac 5 opens with four Tabs to access the Manage, View, Develop and ACDSee365 modules. In PS for Mac 5, just press Option+Command+F while in Manage or View mode and see your image in full-screen without menus or other clutter. Another feature I love in ACDSee products is a true Full-Screen viewing option.
#ACDSEE PHOTO STUDIO FOR MAC 5 WIKI SOFTWARE#
I know of no other publisher of popular photo software that offers this much flexibility to modify shortcuts. External editors can be used with these shortcuts, too. It’s easy to assign keyboard shortcuts to those operations performed often to save time and mouse motions. PS for Mac 5 retains the keyboard customization options of the ACDSee apps on the Windows side. ACDSee Photo Studio for Mac 5 has been out for several days now, and here are my updated impressions after experimenting with all of the operations of this new version.įirst, not new, but a couple of old features worth pointing out.
